PRIORI® and Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a general term for the use of tiny rough grains to buff away the surface layer of skin. Thorntonhall Therapies use a Diamondtome Microdermabrasion machine which is a form of mechanical exfoliation of the skin…… not chemical (e.g. a peel) and it is usually carried out on the face, chest, neck, arms or hands. The treatment is used to improve general scarring, skin smoothness and boosting the superficial layers of the skin. Microdermabrasion is far more invasive and abrasive than normal exfoliation and will only be undertaken, by Thorntonhall Therapies Glasgow, every 7 to 10 days over a 6 week period.
The use of PRIORI® Advanced AHA products will exfoliate the suface stratum cornem, moisturise your skin internally by improving the Hyaluronic Acid (HA) content of the skin and assist skin normalisation. Our skin is made up of two main layers, the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis is the layer closest to the outside world and comprises a set of dead skin cells on top of another layer of cells that are in the process of maturing. The topmost layer, under the dead cell layer is called the stratum corneum. The stratum corneum acts as a barrier between the outside world and our lower skin layers.
This particular treatment combines mechanical and chemical exfoliation. Advanced AHA will be working on the improvement of the HA content of your skin, thus not having a drying, abrasive, effect on your skins surface.
The combination of PRIORI® Advanced AHA and microdermabrasion exfoliation provide a gentle treatment for all skin types. All rejuvenation protocols are individual to Thorntonhall Therapies Glasgow and your skin type. Protocols will not be undertaken without a thorough skin assessment, joint discussion and your agreement to the treatment.
